The lightweight bout between Yves Edwards and Sam Stout for UFC 131 is now official, as the UFC confirmed the previously reported bout late Tuesday night.

The two longtime veterans, each with at least ten fights in the Octagon, will meet for the first time at the event on June 11, headlined by the heavyweight number one contender bout between Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos.

Edwards is riding a three fight win streak, including two straight in the UFC since returning to the organization. Edwards appeared multiple times in the organization from 2001-2006, but then hopped through multiple organizations over the next four years before returning at UFC Fight Night 22 last September. He's defeated John Gunderson and Cody McKenzie in his two fights since returning.

Stout has gone 5-5 through ten appearances in the Octagon since 2006, including three wins in his last four fights. That stretch included three "Fight of the Night" bonuses in a row in bouts with Matt Wiman, Joe Lauzon and Jeremy Stephens.
