For the second time in 2011, Cub Swanson has suffered an injury taking him out of a fight with Erik Koch.

The featherweights were initially scheduled to face off against one another at UFC on Versus 3 in March before Swanson suffered an injury, and then were rescheduled for next month's UFC 132 before Swanson's latest injury.

He revealed on Twitter late Thursday that he had suffered a facial fracture in training that forced him out of the bout this time around.

Koch is expected to get a new opponent for the card, which takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 2. The main pay-per-view card is headlined by a Bantamweight Championship bout between Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz.

Penick's Analysis: This is unwelcome news. I was looking forward to this fight both times it was scheduled, and with two delays it's not likely it will get put together again anytime soon. Then again, Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara have been booked to fight for the third time in the last year, so it's possible the UFC just likes this matchup enough to try to put it together again. At the same time, if Koch wins another fight, he'll be lifting his profile above Swanson's and will be out for bigger fights.
