UFC 138 preliminary-card results: Maguire survives early knockdown, Omigawa wins

BIRMINGHAM, England - John Maguire's UFC debut nearly ended soon after it began.

Instead, the English fighter and crowd favorite survived a first-round knockdown and ultimately scored an impressive promotional-debut decision win over fellow welterweight Justin Edwards.

It was the featured bout on the preliminary card of UFC 138, which streamed live on Facebook from LG Arena in Birmingham, England, prior to the night's main card.
